Philadelphia Wedding Photographers: Thank you, color schemes & more!

We have an exciting announcement this winter… our lovely clients have voted us “Best of the Knot” for 2013. We are beyond excited and so very grateful. Here’s to another year of stunning weddings, lovely people and our favorite thing.. wedding photography!

Our blog posts usually focus on individual sessions, however, this is the time of year when many of you are newly engaged and/or planning your wedding. I thought it might be helpful to post some thoughts on wedding planning in general, and then to follow up with some images from an amazing wedding at the Philadelphia Waterworks this past September.  Here’s a link for those of you who are working to pick a color scheme for your wedding. As an artist, I’m completely obsessed with finding great color. Having a well chosen and well placed color scheme can mean the difference between a visually stunning versus forgettable ceremony and reception. I often consult Design Seeds when I’m looking for inspiration or interesting color combinations. Definitely check it out – enjoy the delicious eye candy!

Here are some details from one of my favorite weddings that we shot this fall – Lauren & Matt had a stunning, rich navy blue and orange color scheme. A bold move. Their wedding was outdoors (at the Philadelphia Waterworks gazebo) followed by an indoor reception at the Waterworks restaurant. The overall feel was bright and airy with well-placed pops of navy and orange. A job very well done! The florists are out of New Jersey and very talented. Check out Twisted Willow Weddings if you love these flowers as much as I do. Contact Caitlin Boshnack of Just Be the Bride if you’re looking for a great planner.

That’s all for now.. check back soon and see what we’re up to!
